Some of you may be celebrating Valentine’s Day. Others may not. That’s just fine. But whether you are celebrating or not, I want you to be mindful of God’s great love for you. I know John 3:16 is such a familiar scripture. It’s so familiar that sometimes the profound meaning gets overlooked. Don’t miss it.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
God loved us. He loved us before we were born. He loved us while we were sinners. He loved us, when we didn’t always love him back. He loved us so much that he gave his son, Jesus, to die and shed his blood for our sins. He did all of this so we would not perish. He did this so that we could live victorious lives.
We are not trying to get God to save us, heal us, provide for us. He already has. Christ’s death on the cross has taken care of everything we’ll ever need. It is the most complete gift. It leaves nothing wanting. When we understanding that fact in our hearts, we will be invincible.
Hallelujah, Amen!

Amen indeed!
